The Roxane Matsa Estate in Attica is situated in Kantza an area historically known for the cultivation and production of high quality wines.
The Estate is cultivated on the principals of organic farming. Its marl (clay loam) soils are rich in calcium, potassium and magnesium.
The famous “Attica” climate, a main characteristic of the ecosystem, is ideal for winemaking. The mild winters and high temperatures have benefited the experimentations that began with the initiative of Boutari in the 80’s. The variety that stood out was the Malagouzia variety.
During the years that followed and in the light of the replantation of the vineyard, initially planted Savatiano, the Malagouzia variety gradually took over a larger area, while several other interesting varieties such as Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc, adapted to the climate perfectly. It is worth noting that all the wines of the Estate are now produced from new vines.
