Deep red color with tawny hues. The nose is dominated by vegetal and earthy aromas with ripe black fruit and vanilla on the background. The palate is dry, rich in robust tannins with acidity that balances the ripe fruit and the sweet spices. The oak is well integrated. Long and complex finish.
The grapes for Rapsani Grande Reserve grow at the highest altitude vine parcels of the Rapsani PDO zone between 500-800 meters. The best grapes are selected from a total area of 5 hectares, where some of the oldest bush vines can be found (up to 35 years old).
Maturation: 18 months in 300 Lt French oak barrels
Barrels: 40% new / 60% used – 2 rd and 3 rd fill
Further ageing in the bottle for at 18 months before release in the market
