About Nikitas...

Born in 1996 in Lamia, Greece, Nikitas graduated from The American Farm School of Thessaloniki in 2014. During his studies, he completed internships, conducted agricultural research in Fthiotida, and worked at La Tour Melas winery in Achinos. Moving to Athens to study Oenology at the University of West Attica, he simultaneously pursued wine education through the WSET program. Throughout his university years, he gained hands-on experience with harvests at Domaine Skouras, Domaine Hatzimichalis, and Avantis Estate. His commitment to continuous learning has led him to explore some of the most renowned wine regions in Europe, including Bordeaux, Mosel, Rioja, Alsace, Tuscany, Penedès, Montsant, Priorat, Madeira, and Porto, while also discovering emerging wine destinations such as Romania and Hungary.

Nikitas holds WSET Levels 1, 2, and 3, Hestia Level 3, and the Level 1 Introductory Sommelier Course. He is a Certified Sommelier by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale and has been a member of the Association of Greek Sommeliers since 2015. He actively participates in masterclasses in Athens and abroad, further expanding his expertise. In addition to his wine studies, he has completed online programs in event planning, marketing, logistics management, and political science, as well as the MBA Essentials seminar from the London School of Economics. In May 2023, he became a certified olive oil taster through the NOAOO and the Swiss Approval Organization.

Head of Cinque Wine & Deli...

Since 2015, Nikitas has been the Head Sommelier of the Cinque Wine & Deli network, where he curates wine lists and designs unique tasting experiences. In June 2023, he joined the Avantis Winery Santorini team as an Oenologist and Sommelier. He also oversees the post-bottling project at Cinque Wine Bars, introducing an innovative tasting concept with 187ml wine bottles. Additionally, he runs Cinque Wine & Deli Monastiraki in Athens, a modern Greek wine bar that features the fullest Cinque Experience. Currently, he is focused on expanding Cinque Wine & Deli through franchising, developing the business under the umbrella of Franchise Co.
