VINIFICATION:
10 year old vines in a single, low yield privately owned vineyard. Barren calcareous clay soil with a content of almost 30% in active calcium Ca+2.
The growing year can be described as a year with a harsh and rainy Winter, with a cold but healthy Spring and a cool Summer without extreme temperatures. Therefore we were led to a prolonged ripening period and to highly concentrated fruit, which was vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Full malolactic conversion took place and maturation for 18-24 months in 70% new French oak barrels 50% 228l and 50%, 400l, 20% 1 year and 10% 2 years. VISSA wine is naturally stabilized.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Medium intense ruby color relatively deep for the variety, with a bouquet of aromas dominated by red fruits such as cherry and strawberry jams, spices, licorice and vanilla.
