Exis Red

Where does it come from?

Two hectares of privately owned linear vineyard plots at an altitude of 200-300 meters. Clay soil with good drainage due to the presence of small limestones. The harvest is nocturnal, aiming for the grapes to arrive at the winery cool and not hot, as in the daytime harvest. Thus, much faster and without thermal shock, they are cooled for pre-fermentative cryoextraction.

Ruby color of medium intensity, with aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and plum. Pleasant taste, soft and balanced with a strong sense of freshness, good acidity, mild tannins and an elegant aftertaste.

The variety...

The word’s two compounds, moschos (muscat) and mavro (black) instantly usher into the “rhythm” of this rare variety restless wine lovers who, eager for new horizons, are drawn by the yet-to-be-fathomed nature of the variety. Mentioning rhythm has been deliberate: Whether transformed into a red or rosé, Moschomavro will invariably invoke the festive ambience of dancing through its marvellously mischievous aroma.

The winery...

MANOLESAKIS ESTATE of the Manolesaki family has been active in viticulture & winemaking since 1989, a pivotal period that coincides with the beginning of the vineyard of the Hadrian area in Drama, with the cosmopolitan French varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Syrah.
